How much do you know about re-insurance? Insurance cos make money from scaring the public about risk. Re-insurance companies make money from insuring insurance companies against risk. Do Swiss Re have a motive for scare mongering? For a reinsurer, you want to make insurance companies worried about freak events or whatever, so that they pay premia as insurance. If the payout never happens, who gains? And how many people know that insurance companies are backed by re-insurance companies?
