A week in the lakes

PXL_20250812_084525914 Once again I'm briefly back. This time my excuse was a week - or thereabouts - canoeing around Stora La, a large lake in Sweden; bookended by stays in Oslo, Goteborg and Stockholm. All very pleasant and civilised, there were even composting toilets. 428 photos are available.

I swear I intended to write this up somewhere, or that I even did, but I can't find it now. Hmpf.

Ah. It turns out that my notes were hand-written into my diary. This is a nice comfy way of writing, but it does mean I'm unlikely to ever go back and extract them as text. Ah well.

Well, I can at least add a map of the concatenated GPS track, which links to the individual days, and has pix.

* A disappointing article from Veronique de Rugy in Reason on the new DOE report. The comments ref my old If it isn’t catastrophic we’ve got nothing to worry about, have we? as did ATTP recently.

  1. You were mentioned in Reason's comments.
"Cambridge climate policy critic William Connolly is correct in observing that:

“if you can’t imagine anything between “catastrophic” and “nothing to worry about” then you’re not thinking“."

Too bad they can't spell your name correctly.

  2. Good spot; though sad that dey gotta no respct. But I've lived with that for some time now. I see the level of debate there is about what one expects. Interestingly, ATTP also linked to that good ol' post recently. I'll put it into the refs.

  3. As someone who has (unintentionally) misspelled your name more than once (okay, once it was intentional--and my apologies), I think you should bask in the publicity rather than worry about the spelling.
