Do you ever find it annoying when people att empt to win arguments using invalid analogies? Dilbert has the answer...

Bad analogies are bad.

For example, as a consequence of your analogy between sceptics (or skeptics) on one side and septics on other side, many of your Google AdSense advertisements - if you reload many times - on this blog are dedicated to (real) septics. ;-)

Sorry Nigel - if you want to take a whack at Lumos and/or String Theory, the place to do that is his blog; but not here.

Dear Belette,

I think there is an allegation of censorship at Motl's blog which inspired the comment here.

However, I was mainly praising his correct statement above that "Bad analogies are bad."

Is praise an insult?

I won't make any more comments.

Thanks,
Nigel
